So far everything has been text. Python can also work with numbers, and it treats the two very differently.

Text goes inside quote marks: "hello", "42". Programmers call text a string, because it is a string of characters.
Numbers have no quote marks: 42, 3.5, -7.

When you give print a sum without quotes, Python works out the answer first, then shows it:

print(2 + 3)
print(10 - 4)
print(6 * 7)

The * symbol is how you write multiply in Python, because x is a letter.

When the same sum is inside quotes, it is just text, so Python shows it exactly as written:

print("2 + 3")
