Back office
Invoices, accounts, enquiries and visitor statistics for a small business, behind one sign-in.
About
The private admin behind this site. Invoices are written, emailed and marked paid here, and the money page turns paid invoices and logged expenses into a running tax estimate for the year, choosing between the trading allowance and actual expenses by itself.
Messages from the contact form land in an inbox with a spam filter in front of it. A bot has to complete a proof-of-work check before it can post, and anything that still looks like spam is filed away without a single email being sent.
How it works
Tax rules in one place
Every rate and threshold for the tax year sits in one file, so a Budget change is one edit. The estimate covers income tax, Class 4 National Insurance and the VAT registration threshold.
Spam without a captcha service
The form carries a signed token and asks the browser for a small proof of work, which costs a person nothing and stops a bot that never runs scripts. A second filter scores whatever gets through.
Statistics without cookies
Visits are counted on the server against a visitor id that is a hash, rotated daily, so no cookie is set and no address is kept.
